Dimitri Staszewski is a documentary photographer interested in long-term projects that use intimate storytelling to shed light on relatable and global issues. Cultural preservation is often at the core of his work and bookmaking has become essential to his practice.

Staszewski is a passionate educator who teaches photography workshops internationally for National Geographic Student Expeditions and has presented his research at notable institutions including the University of California Berkeley and the American Center for Mongolian Studies in Ulaanbaatar. In 2015, he was awarded a Fulbright-mtvU Fellowship for his work documenting traditional music performed by nomadic herders.

In 2022 Staszewski self-published Heart-Shaped Tomatoes, a cookbook about his 102-year-old Italian immigrant grandmother. Workshop Arts published his first photobook Close to the Bayou in September of 2024.
